"The Metal Bench"

Part 1

One man's junk is another's art! ...Something like that!

Liz had this rusty old junky metal bench. The whole family laughed at it and tried to throw it away more than once. But Liz, had a plan. She knew exactly what she wanted to do. The picture was created in her mind and that old rusty bench was going to become a work of art. It was just a matter of when!

Here's a few pictures of art in process. Actually with a little imagination you too can take that old chair, table or any piece of old furniture and make it your artful creation. Let's take a look at the process.

Here it is in it's naked beauty. At one time Liz took the old chair and sprayed it with white paint. Can you believe that chair sat in front of our house with a leaf stuffed halloween man for about 2 or 3 years.....Our neighbors just love us!

Here's the artist hard at work. There's probably 5 or 6 layers of paint. Liz scraped, sanded and scaped some more. art project hand painted flowers on metal bench

After trying to get the old rusty thing as smooth as possible, the artist finally applies a good coat of primer. art project hand painted flowers on metal bench
